How we collect data
Our comparisons of cloud Mac rental in Europe and North America are built from the providers’ own public pages. This page explains what we include, where the numbers come from and how they are checked.
What we include
- Companies that rent a Mac mini in a data center for remote use (cloud Macs). Rental of physical computers delivered to you is not included.
- Each plan with its chip, memory (RAM), storage, server location and price, as the company publishes them.
- A company appears in a regional comparison only if it states that it has a data center in that region. Companies that do not state any location are listed under the table instead of being placed on a guess.
- When several websites clearly offer the same service, we list it once.
Sources and updates
- We read each provider’s public pricing or plan pages, and public price catalogues where a provider offers one. We do not use prices from third-party reviews.
- Prices are checked automatically about once a week. Each table shows the date of the last check.
- Before publishing, prices, memory and storage are checked against the text of the source page (or the provider’s own price catalogue). If a page changes and the check fails, the previous data stays until we fix it.
- Each company name in the tables links to the page where the price was found.
How prices are shown
- We show the price per day, month and year. A dash means the company does not sell that period.
- When a period is not published, we calculate it with fixed rules and mark it with a tilde (~): hourly price × 24 for a day, daily price × 30 for a month, monthly price × 12 for a year. A published yearly plan is used as listed. We never calculate a daily price from a monthly one.
- The monthly price is the one for month-to-month or the shortest plan offered. Longer contracts are often cheaper; where a company publishes them, the yearly column uses that price.
- Prices in other currencies are converted to euros at the European Central Bank reference rate of the date shown above the table. You can switch to the provider’s own currency.
- Many companies quote prices without VAT, some include it. Always confirm the final price on the provider’s site.
- “From” marks prices that the company only publishes as a starting price.
Order and independence
- Tables are sorted by monthly price by default; you can sort and filter them as you like.
- No company pays to be included or to change its position. We do not earn money from the links in our tables.
For providers: corrections and new listings
If your service is missing or our data is outdated, send us a link to the public page that shows the plan, price or data center location. We update the data after checking that page. We do not publish information that is not on a public page.
